In collaboration with Turn, Budtenders Ethos LLC Present for your consideration: Hollywood & Chai, the Review.
The Lineage

.

The Introduction
Upon the first draw, you’re greeted with a rich tapestry of spicy notes, where cinnamon takes center stage, evoking the classic chai essence with precision and warmth. The blend is artfully complemented by the depth of nutmeg and cloves, adding layers of complexity and inviting the senses into a deeper exploration. This spicy ensemble is beautifully balanced by a sweet undercurrent, reminiscent of the creamy, sugary notes found in a well-crafted horchata. Hints of vanilla and honey weave through the vapor, creating a smooth, dense, and full-bodied draw that’s as luxurious as a velvet robe.
The Review
Appearance & Presentation (9.25)
The “Hollywood & Chai” vape pod by Turn takes you on an aromatic journey that is as glamorous and inviting as its name suggests. This oil marries the luxurious warmth of Hollywood’s golden era with the exotic, spiced comfort of chai, creating an experience that’s both captivating and uniquely comforting.

Information Clarity (9/10):
The disposable packaging for H&C is a bit more clear than her Pod counterpart. The added elements such as the cascading Flavor, Feeling, and Memory identifiers found on the product are thoughtful, but they require customer education to be best utilized. Once they’re aware of the meanings of these words and phrases, consumers love them.
Packaging Quality (9.5/10):
Disposables come in a sleeve. The sleeve itself is made from biodegradable plastics, its high-quality feel envelops a plastic bracket in which your cart is held. This gives the package stability for display and storage, and it prevents the pod from shifting around.

Aroma & Flavor
Scent Profile (8.5/10):
H&C has an incredibly pronounced nose dominated by Caryophyllene (the only terpene to directly activate the EC2 giving it powerful pharmacological benefits), Myrcene, and Humulene.
Flavor Profile (7.75/10):
Dominant flavonoids present include: Caryophyllene, Myrcene, Humulene, and Ocimene. Shes colored by notesofblack pepper, cinnamon, cream, and horchata.
Consistency (9/10):
Across pods and carts, Turn has managed to achieve unbelievable consistency. We made a point to test for this very precisely by purchasing 2 separate carts from two stores hundreds of miles apart (1: Firehouse Cannabis Dispensary {A Premier Society Dispensary] in Turlock, CA, about 90 minutes south of Sacramento; and 2: The Artist Tree on N. Palm Ave in Fresno, CA).

Production & Smoothness
Vapor Density (8.5):
The density of the pods can vary a bit from consumer to consumer, but we can confidently say that as of the current moment, people are feeling like the disposables are heavier rippers than their Pod cousins. It is our belief that this can be attributed to improper usage or a lack of education on the product. Hollywood has good density, as she pulls from some of the most expansive parentages known to canna-kind in the OG family. Like those ancestors before her, H&C the smoke is very expansive, deep, and full.
Smoothness (8.5/10)
Just like other cultivars we’ve encountered with Turn, this cartridge is dangerously smooth. We recommend that newbies and shoebees hold off on using this cart until they can develop a tolerance. Despite the bold, sharp nose, Hollywood & Chai produces a creamy and complex finish to level off the experience.

Overall Experience:
Onset: (8/10):
Swift, albeit potentially delayed based on the individual’s response to the smooth, dense, and warm vapor quality. Our evaluation revealed a rapid initiation of effects, marked by pronounced cerebral stimulation alongside notable somatic (body, visceral) sensations.
Duration: (8/10)
When compared with other cultivars, it exhibits a moderate duration. Initial effects become appreciable following several inhalations, indicating a significant rate of titration within the user’s system. We posit that this has something to do with the hybridization outcome of this cultivars lineage, identified by the stupendous levels of caryophyllene.
Intensity/Potency (9.25/10):
Markedlyhigh. This aspect was particularly intriguing to our experienced users, who noted that the psychotropic and psychoactive properties of this cannabis oil bear resemblance to the effects encountered with substances like caffeine, cocoa, or tobacco.
Desired Effects: (9/10)
The Introduction created a strong expectation of a plethora of zesty, pungent, and rich flavors, full-bodied aromas, and full-spectrum effects. The Interlude confirmed much. While the effects we anticipated did indeed occur (such as energy production & maintenance, improved cognitive function, memory recall, displacement,, and critical thinking facilitation), we missed the mark on the flavor, mouthfeel, and smoothness. The Finish procures high marks for fulfilling amd exceeding these anticipatory beliefs and assuaging the underlying concerns with surprising inputs.

Safety & Compliance
Lab Testing: (10/10):
We take Turn at their word when they inform us that the product has been exhaustively and compliantly tested as required by law, performed by neutral, objective, and un-affiliated third party labs.
Contaminants: (10/10):
No heavy metals or contaminates, guaranteed on the packaging. Maximum points procured due to the seeming trajectory to which Turn has committed, which will result in a metal-free experience.
Childproofing (9/10):
As we rouched on earlier, Turn demonstrates effective childproof packaging because they genuinely care about the community. Part of this Ethos is comprised of the mandate and imperatives injuncted upon #weedthepeople to do, like protecting children from exposure.
We are extremely impressed that, to the best of our knowledge, Turn may be the first righteous cannabusiness to not only care about their customers, but to actively prevent accidental exposure by limiting themselves to certain production and design tolerances beyond the requirements of lawful authorities. This proaction is encouraging. Good work here. </li>

Overall Value
Price Point (9/10):
Extremely reasonable. Low cost for top shelf oil. No problem paying that price for that peoduct. Quality buildout, robust product resilience. Disposable Carts run $20 to $40 across California.

Consumer Experience: (9/10)
In essence, “Hollywood & Chai” caters to the connoisseur within, providing a cannabis experience that goes beyond mere consumption to become a sensory exploration.
Being part of the reason we recommend against this particular cultivar iteration for rookie and sophomore smokers, this product is incredibly rich with layers. It’s for the cannaisseur who not only values the benefits of their chosen cultivar, but also deeply appreciates the artistry behind its creation, from the intricate balance of its terpene profile, such as those found in HC, to the technological nuances that influence vapor density and quality, like TRUtaste™ Technology.

Reusability: (9.25/10)
Given that the cart is Disposable, they score high for reusability, 9.75/10. However, we believe in robist and fair analyses, so we deduct a point due to the rip size when the battery is below 50%, at which time the cart tends to shed power perceptibly faster. This is something which the veteran smoker would immediately notice.
However, we recognize and commend Turn for having made–and presently, making–purposefu,l conscious efforts with regard to reusability: in the short term, the carts are charged using the standard USB-C, and the company has taken steps like ohm heat control, to improve ease-of-use, and therefore reusability. In the long term, they have built environmentally-friendly and eco-friendly design elements into all their products. For these efforts we award them back ½ of a point to land at a cool 9.25/10. Well done.

When talking about the PodPen iteration of HC, there may once in a while arise the issue seen here. The Pod itself (Black Part) is designed to fit snugly into the Pen (Silver Part), this maximizes efficiency and creates the necessary electrical circuit to decarb and consume this oil at the ideal temperature. The spot where these two parts meet is where we encountered the sole issue we’ve ever had with any Turn Cart or Pod–A structural issue
Looking closely, you can observe the roughly 1-2mm-long lip off the right side, and a proportionate shifting on the left side as well. This is the result of a manufacturing tolerance error whereby the pods semi-soft cap-mouthpiece is attached unevenly in assembly. While we didn’t experience any direct negative results from this finding, we are making it known for the betterment of Turn, their clientele, and the Industry.
