The Lineage

Much of what’s known about Blue Dream is either unverified or contested, but generally speaking, we can agree that she’s a Sativa-Dominant Cultivar, the product of two vaunted pedigrees: Haze & Blueberry. The most likey genealogical truth lies with the notion that Blue Dream  didn’t become what it is today–a Cornerstone Cultivar, as it were–until it was picked up by the legendary seedsynthery DJ Short. The Juggernaut family lineup of Hazes are well known for their quickening, cerebral, euphoric, clear effects while offering up a beautiful concoction to the palate. Over the last nearly 30 years, Blue Dream has become probably the most well-known and widespread strain in the world.

The aromatic profile is rich and full, closely mirroring the natural aromas of the Blue Dream strain with its signature sweet berry, tropical, and herbal notes. The flavor profile scores equally high, offering a flavor experience that is both authentic and pleasantly smooth, without any artificial aftertaste often found in lesser quality extracts. Upon draw, the superiority of this oil immediately becomes apparent in smoothness and onset. BD is a cornerstone cultivar, present in large numbers of various varieties. To do this epic strain justice, Turn pulled out all the stops. Turn’s iteration of Blue Dream excels in production quality and smoothness of consumption, favoring this quality burn over high density, to the consumers benefit. The vapor produced is dense and fulfilling, and expansive in the mouth, indicative of a high-quality extract that vaporizes efficiently without any harshness. In this area, the only lacking element is the longevity of the production. When using a Disposable, or when using a charged PodPen, the smoothness and heaviness of each draw is exceptional, allowing for a pleasant experience even for those with sensitive throats. The overall experience is thus highly enjoyable, combining ease of use with the satisfying texture of the vapor, making it a go-to choice for both novice and seasoned consumers.

The effects of Blue Dream by Turn®, marked by its sativa dominance, are both immediate and profound. Users report a quick onset of euphoria and cerebral stimulation, lasting for an extended duration that is both satisfying and functional. The potency is perfectly balanced, providing an uplifting experience without overwhelming the senses. The desired effects of elevation, creativity, and mental clarity are consistently achieved, meeting and often exceeding user expectations for a sativa-dominant hybrid.

In terms of its physical impacts and psychoactivity, we agree that the heaviest hitter among the three iterations is the Solventless Blue Dream, followed by the Live Resin Pod, and the BB cart. All three produced dry eyes, munchies, but balanced with a mental focus that borders on that produced from the uptake of Saline. A very intense feeling can accompany initial hits, heavy pulls, and middle-of-the-night pulls (not that we do it…but we did it last night!) especially cerebrally. Big tokes produce that tunnel-closing feeling one may experience as a newbie, but Blue Dream doesn’t add to anxiety. NOTABLE DEDUCTIONS: We deducted points on hitability and ease-of-use of the SL Pod, in particular. They seem to require greater initial torque to get going, causing discomfort, and they are the most prone to clogging out of all three iterations, potentially affecting quality and proper usage.

RECOMMENDED SOLUTIONS: Our Analysts agree that the proper solution here should include a focus on the functionality of SL products in lieu of design. We believe that the market will better and more efficiently bear a product less aesthetically appealing yet more functional. This fits with our field feedback which indicates consumers most highly value functionality, then form.

While the PodPak® Pod itself may not be reusable, she is rechargable in under 30 minutes for the battery, 5 minutes for the PodPen® the emphasis on quality and customer satisfaction provides overall value that goes beyond the physical product.

Reviews conducted in a professional, dedicated manner can make the difference between the success and failure of a cultivar. If people don’t believe that a product is good, they won’t venture out to buy it. A good Budtender always speaks the truth–you are the gatekeepers of the industry. LR vs. BB vs. SL

The following table shows the scores for each iteration and each category. To create an accurate and fair measurement, we purchased the Botanical, Live Resin, and Solventless delivery methods. Generally speaking we were quite impressed with the consistency and parallel effects witnessed in each one. They each have their own distinct personalities, offering strengths in multiple areas while complementing one another well. Comparatively, the BB offers the fastest, most euphoric experience, while the LR offers up a more utilitarian, clean, and intense one. The SL shined! She’s strong, long-lasting, and it embodies that perfect union of cannabinoids, flavonoids, and terpenes to provide the experience only Cold-Water-Hash can offer.
