Flower Review SOP

Great Budtenders and Brand Agents grow to know their products over time. Given that many of us have been engaged with cannabis for 20+ years–literally like a third of our lifetimes–we’ve managed to come to know thousands of strains collectively. Behind four humble Budtenders hides nearly 100 years of cannabis wisdom and/or service!

How Do We Rate & Review Products?

Flower is rated, reviewed, and recommended based on careful and rigorous examination, standardized by Chronicler.

1. Appeal & Appearance:

• Appearance (0-10 points): Evaluate the visual appeal of the flower. Consider factors like color, trichome coverage, and overall presentation. Is it different from other strains by the same name? Consider how so.
• Trimming and Structure (0-10 points): Assess the quality of trimming and the flower’s overall structure.

2. Aroma & Flavor:

• Aroma (0-10 points): Rate the aroma of the flower, considering its fragrance, potency, and any distinctive scents.
• Flavor (0-10 points): Evaluate the taste profile of the flower when smoked or vaporized. Note any complex or unique flavors. Consider palate coverage: sweet, sour, salty, etc.

3. Effectiveness & Experience:

• Potency (0-10 points): Assess the potency of the flower in delivering the desired effects. Is she creeper? Fast-acting?
• Cannabinoid Profile (0-10 points): Consider the balance of cannabinoids (THC, CBD, etc.) and their contribution to the overall experience.
• Terpene Profile (0-10 points): Evaluate the terpene content and its influence on the flavor and effects of the flower.
• User Experience (0-10 points): Consider the overall experience of consuming the flower, including any positive or negative effects, comfort, and satisfaction.

4. Overall Rating:

• Calculate Total Points: Sum up the points assigned to each area (Quality and Appearance, Aroma and Flavor, Effectiveness and Experience) to get a total score out of 40.
• Convert to 1-10 Scale: Divide the total score by 4 to obtain an average score out of 10. This becomes the final rating for the flower.

5. Additional Notes:

• Include any additional comments or observations that may not fall into the predefined categories but are relevant to the review.
• For Brand Agents: Be sure to notate everything thoroughly. Take pictures of products and items that would be smart to be remembered.
• For Budtenders: Don’t slack off on your brand research. This takes time, some money, and dedication to understanding and quality.
• Be prepared to travel, engage consistently, and make friends without asking for returns. Being good to others will bring goodness back to you. Never forget that.
