To this end, Budtenders Ethos reviewed Turn’s Strawberry Haze Pod & Disposable cartridges, and we are ready to present our findings.

The Lineage

Like most strains in cannabis, the historical origins of Strawberry Haze (SH) are a bit murkier than they ought to be. The most widely accepted lineage of Strawberry Haze, also known as Arjan’s Strawberry Haze, traces back to a mix of genetics that emphasizes flavor, potency, and sativa-dominant effects. It is believed to have been created by crossing Swiss Sativa and NL5 Haze Mist. This combination has resulted in a strain known for its sweet strawberry aroma and uplifting, euphoric effects.

Here are the differing traits of each side of SH’s Hybrid nature. Her lineage stretches back some decades, enriched by breeders.

Notice how Swiss Sativa is localized to a very specific geographical region. That particular area creates its own quintessential natural chemovars, and they can be identified by a trained observer. This phenomenon is known as “terroir” (tear•WAH), and is beginning to be utilized by professionals called Cannabis Sommeliers (so•mall•lee•AYZ). SH has distinct traits, but not to a specific region. Currently there are only a few strains that meet these thresholds, but the longer humans cultivate in specific regions, the more identifiable the traits of the plant cultivated there.

Visual Appeal (9/10): Products from reputable companies like Turn typically prioritize visual appeal with vibrant colors and clear branding that stands out, reflecting the strain’s energetic and uplifting nature. Turn accomplishes this task using primarily Black & White. This deters children and the unversed, highlighting Turn’s considerate design. Nine points!

Information Clarity (9/10): Because Turn pioneers industry best practices, the packaging includes essential information such as strain type, THC/CBD content, and terpene profile, flavor, feeling, and memory. making it easy for consumers to understand what they’re purchasing. Well organized and easy to interpret.
• C. Packaging Quality (9/10): High-quality, durable packaging that protects the pod from damage and preserves its freshness is expected, with a design that aligns with Turn’s brand values of quality and consumer trust.

II. Aroma & Flavor

• A. Scent Profile (9/10): Strawberry Haze presents as a sweet, strawberry scent, complemented by hints of earthy undertones, making it quite appealing on opening.
• B. Taste (9/10): Offering a sweet berry flavor with a refreshing herbal aftertaste, Strawberry Haze appeals to those who favor fruity strains. The taste should closely mirror the aroma, and in this case it does.
• C. Consistency (8/10): Consistency in flavor and aroma can vary slightly due to natural variations in cannabis crops but generally remains true to the strain’s profile. Turn has repeatedly illustrated their ability to achieve this.

III. Production & Smoothness

• A. Vapor Density (7/10): Depending on the device used, vapor density can be moderate to high, providing a satisfying cloud without being too harsh. Both disposable and PodPaks are equally smooth, potent, and flavorful. We did notice that it felt like the S. Haze went a bit more quickly than other strains like Tangie or Cactus Cool.
• B. Smoothness (8/10): Strawberry Haze strains are often smooth on the inhale and exhale, minimizing coughing and throat irritation. This Haze is smooth, but it’ll creep on you, so go low and slow.
• C. Overall Experience (8/10): A pleasant vaping experience that balances flavor, aroma, and smoothness, suitable for both new and experienced consumers.

IV. Effect & Potency

• A. Onset and Duration (7/10): Effects are felt fairly quickly, especially with vaping, with a duration that satisfies without overwhelming, making it ideal for daytime use.
• B. Potency (8/10): Given its Haze lineage, it’s unsurprisingly quite potent, offering a cerebral and uplifting high, suitable for creative activities and socializing.
• C. Desired Effects (9/10): It’s expected to deliver on its promises of euphoria, creativity, and energy, making it a favorite among Sativa lovers. Upon review, it hits as advertised. A nice, light, airy, and mild high follows behind that sweet flavor. It kept us elevated for a few hours.

V. Safety & Compliance

• A. Lab Testing (9/10): Turn adheres to state regulations and industry standards, so comprehensive lab testing for potency and purity is available via a QR code on the packaging, ensuring safety and compliance.
• B. Contaminants (9/10): High scores in this category reflect a commitment to clean, contaminant-free products, which is critical for consumer trust. You’ll find that since Turn knows quality, these carts and pods pass these benchmarks with flying colors.
• C. Childproofing (8/10): Effective childproof packaging is a standard in the industry; and with Turn ensuring their products are securely packaged to prevent unintended access, they receive high marks.

VI. Overall Value
